East Sussex LINk is a network of local people, organisations and groups that want to make Health & Social Care services better.
East Sussex LINk provides everyone in the community - from individuals to voluntary groups with the chance to say what you think about local health and social care services and your experiences.
Under the Government's New Legislation LINks will become HealthWatch in April 2012. There are also a number of documents concerning the NHS out for public consultation at the moment. These can be found on the Department of Health Website:

We are holding 2 public engagement meetings in Hailsham to involve people in the consultations that will bring changes to your NHS. The meetings will be from 2.30 to 4.30 and 6 to 8

Engagement Workshops
Monday 13th September 2010 2.30-4.30pm or 6.00-8.00pm
Hailsham Community Hall, Hailsham, BN27 2AX.
The aims of the Workshops are:

to provide a collective voice for the community through the LINk

to provide feedback to the Government on their proposals for the NHS

to encourage people to respond to the consultations
"NHS White Paper Equity and excellence, Liberating the NHS"
Key discussions at each session will be:

Putting patients and the public first

Improving healthcare outcomes

Commissioning for patients and local democratic legitimacy

Regulating healthcare providers

Participants should not feel restricted to only providing feedback at a workshop, you can comment and respond to the consultation as an individual outside of these workshops.
